Inner Child Therapy

What happens when a  child cries? There is noise, stress, hurt and pain right? To the child as well as to the adults around the child.

This is exactly what the ‘Inner Child’ concept is all about.

As we go through life, we experience all of its shades by viewing them through our individual lens of perception. Each person’s lens is different. This lens is like a filter which is formed based on beliefs, inherent emotions, past life memories, etc. This lens determines the manner in which we perceive each episode in our life.

When we perceive some episode as unpleasant, it leaves an impact on us. Now this impact results in this impacted part of us staying frozen and wounded in that moment. And this part stays frozen in our mind. As we continue to grow and age, this part is still unhealed and frozen back in time, in that moment, i.e. to say it hasn’t grown with us. Although dormant and quiet, it is still there nonetheless. Akin to dust swept under the carpet.

Inner Child Therapy needed to this children.

Either way, when that happens, this part starts making a noise pretty much like a child who wants to be heard. Now that noise could be in the form of repeated unhealthy patterns in relationships, or career, or in any other manner, which will push you to contemplate as to what is going on! You may feel stuck and you may feel the need to explore what is going on. Which is exactly what the inner child wants – to gain your attention so that you can help it!

This is what Inner Child Therapy is all about.

Now one more thing – An inner child need not necessarily be some part of you from childhood. It is any wounded, unhealed, suppressed part of you from any age lesser than your current age. So inner children basically are hurt and unheard parts of us that really need help just like any child does. When we don’t understand their call for help, they start screaming louder in a way such that our external physical reality reflects back to us what we need to take our attention towards.

Now of course Inner child could be one of the probable causes of your challenges and issues, nonetheless, it is always advisable to explore it! Inner child therapy can be extremely effective in bringing about deep relief from long standing issues.
